Downtown Conway will once again welcome shoppers to explore the hidden treasures of Downtown Conway with the Annual Snowball Drop and Holiday Open House on November 10 & 11, 2018.
To kick-off this special weekend, Conway Downtown Alive will host the 10th Annual Snowball Drop at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 10.
Approximately 1500 ping-pong balls with store names and prize numbers written on them will be fired high into the air from a "snowball cannon". After catching the snowballs, participants visit the various shops to claim their coupon, special offer or gifts. Snowball Drop participants are invited to gather on Laurel Street between 3rd & 4th Avenue to catch the snowballs as they rain down on waiting shoppers, but remember...don't be late the blizzard starts at 10:00 a.m. sharp!
The first launch is for kids only and features small prizes from Conway Alive. The remaining launches are for adults only and feature 40+ Conway businesses. This event is free and open to the public. Conway Alive reminds participants that some attendees become very excited when the snowballs are launched and therefore pushing and running may occur during the event. Hillary Howard, Executive Director of Conway Downtown Alive says, "We started this event 10 years ago with 600 ping pong balls and a fire truck ladder now we launch 1500 ping pong balls with our one of a kind "snowball cannon" representing 40+ businesses."
After the Snowball Drop start your holiday shopping at the 40+ eclectic shops of Downtown Conway. Most stores are open from 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 or 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 10 and on Sunday, November 11 select merchants open their doors again from 1:00-4:00 p.m. to welcome visitors to explore the hidden gems of Conway.
The event is sponsored by HTC, PCRX and Santee Cooper.
