Our editor, Joey O'Connor, had a chance to ask Phillip L. Hendrick, Jr. (Le) a few serious questions and many not-so-serious questions! Thanks Le for allowing the Conway Community to "Get To Know" you a little better!
What do you love most about Conway?
Small town feeling, even though the population is over 20,000 people
What made you move here initially (or did you grow up here)?
Born and raised
If you could change just one thing in Conway, what would it be?
I would make it more known by visitors passing through. We need to find a way to funnel more through Downtown Conway. Generally if they visit once, they tend to come back!
What’s your vision of Conway in 20 years?
A majority of the “donut holes” (areas that are in the core of the City and not yet annexed into the City Limits) will be inside of the City Limits, double the population, and a thriving downtown business district on nights and weekends
If there is something that you don't think the public knows about you but you would like for them to know, what would that be?
I have a quirky sense of humor. Most people do not know that because they say I am too serious a majority of the time. I honestly try to make others laugh and smile every chance I get
Who is your role model or hero?
Role model - Walt Disney; Hero – My Dad
Where did you grow up? Where did you go to High School? Where did you go to College? Etc.
I grew up in the City Limits of Conway. I attended Conway Primary, Conway Elementary, Conway Middle, and Conway High School. I graduated from Columbia Southern University in 2011 with an Associate’s Degree in Fire Science, 2012 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Fire Science, and if all goes well I will finish my Master of Public Administration in November of this year through Columbia Southern University

What is the funniest thing that has happened to you recently?
I am scared of spiders (no shame). A couple of weeks ago I saw a large spider in the bathroom of my house. I attempted to kill it, but it escaped unharmed. Later that same night, I sat down on my couch and crossed one leg over the other, and my shoelace grazed my leg. I immediately assumed the large spider had returned so I jumped about 3’ into the air. My wife laughed at me for ten minutes
